Using Performance Tool with 64 bit Vista

Hi, I wondered if anyone had found a way to successfully use the Performance Tool with say Kontakt on 64 bit Vista. The midi tool won't install so Maple is no longer an option. I've tried several different Maple alternatives but one way or another I'm either not getting the midi to the Performance Tool out of Cubase 5 or failing to get it back in to drive Kontakt. Of course the fact that the Performance Tool doesn't have any kind of flashing midi activity indicator doesn't really help with diagnostics. So I just wondered if anyone in the community had a set-up to use the Performance Tool in a 64bit Vista environment which worked. The closest I've got so far is to have the performance tool on a slave computer (running XP) and drive it with ipMidi from the Vista PC but that idea fell apart when the sound returned via Wormhole was really flaky. Any suggestions - or even telling me it can't be done (thereby putting me out of my misery) would be welcome. Cheers, David.

What VSL library do you have for Kontakt?

Technically there are no VSL libraries for Kontakt - I am talking about converting the Giga version (i.e. importing) to Kontakt. As Gigastudio isn't VIsta 64 compatible I'm looking to find a way to continue using the Giga format libraries without having to run XP Gigastudio slaves. The 'straight' samples import and work OK, but there would need to be some form of scripting to make the Performance samples work as they do using the Performance Tool with Gigastudio. The easiest option would be to be able to continue using Performance Tool - plan B would be to write performance scripts for Kontakt which replicate the function of Performance Tool - but that's gonna be pretty tricky!

    Hi David,

When I bought the now defunct Gigastudio 4, it had a 32 and a 64 bit version.  I was thinking of moving to 64 bit with Windows 7 and installing GS4 on that, however I note that you state that GS doesn't work in Vista 64.  Did you actually try it and find it didn't work, and if so have you since tried with Windows 7 in 64 bit mode?
