Mike, So you hear the RoomTone when you insert VE Pro in a bus track of Sonar? That sounds like a good start. ... it means that the VE Pro Server plugin is indeed connected to Vienna Ensemble Server. Mind you: You will have to use the audio insert FX called "Vienna Ensemble Audio Input" in each track of Sonar that you want to send to MIR Pro...

Do you insert VEP in a bus and then send your audio track to that bus? I have tried that but cannot get it to return the effect. I have also tried putting VEP in the FX bin of the audio I track I want to process but...

Just another observation:
If I save a metaframe with mixed instances of vse, play and kontakt I can open the server at any time and reload the metaframe without problem i.e. it loads the play instances just fine.
Having the server open and then open sonar or sibelius and loading my project it stops when it comes to the first play instance
